Step 1. Unplug the appliance and have the plug ready to test.
Step 2. Connect one of the test leads to a visible and accessible part of the cabinet, such as a door hinge or front panel.
Step 3. Connect the other test lead to the Earth Pin on the plug.
Step 4. Select ‘Continuity’ (based on using the Socket and See IRC Pro) and then press and hold the TEST Button – the tester will display a value in Ohms and you are looking for a reading of less than 0.3 Ohms.
If your reading is greater than 0.3 Ohms, then further investigation is needed.
